You(th) are a Health Leader! Join our Goosechase game to share!

Most of us have heard of Pride Month. Did you know that October is LGBTQ+ History month?!

The Department of Instruction cites “Wisconsin’s LGBTQ students reported higher rates of depression and suicidal thoughts than their peers” according to the Youth Behavior Risk Survey.

Belonging is a key aspect of 4-H. We are grateful for our community partners and the work they do to keep youth safe and connected to their communities. AND we appreciate our 4-H members, families and volunteers who support all youth in our program in large and small ways everyday.

Our Health and Well Being programming in Rock County prioritizes mental health. We apply the research and resources of UW-Madison to help:

  • Promote positive mental health by teaching skills to manage stress more effectively, practice self-care and reduce risky substance use by youth and adults.
  • Build community skills, tools and resources to promote health.

The Prevention Network in Rock County is one of the most active examples of Youth-Adult Partnerships and health living. On October 16, alongside the Prevention Network, we participated in Janesville Pride in Park.  If you missed this event, you can still connect and learn with us.
