About 4-H

Welcome to the Rock County 4-H!
Our programs center on the 4-Hs—head, heart, hands, and health. This is the foundation for everything we do. With more than 23 4-H community clubs in Rock County, there is a club for you!
What is 4-H?
4‐H is the nation’s largest youth development and empowerment organization. In Wisconsin, more than 26,000 youth are members of 4-H. The 4-H programming aims to engage youth ages 5‐19 to learn important life skills like leadership, teamwork, critical thinking and communication to help prepare them for successful futures – and they do it while engaging in fun, hands‐on 4‐H activities!
4-H Vision
A world in which youth and adults learn, grow, and work together as catalysts for positive change.
4-H Pledge
I pledge my HEAD to clearer thinking, my HEART to greater loyalty, my HANDS to larger service, and my HEALTH to better living, for my club, my community, my country, and my world.

4-H Mission
4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential working and learning in partnership with caring adults.
What makes 4-H different?
4‐H is unique because it is the only youth organization tied to the research base of our nation’s land‐grant university system. This connection allows the University of Wisconsin‐Madison, Division of Extension staff, and the volunteers they work with, to receive training based on the most up‐to‐date research on youth development theory and practice.
